Young Labour joined the 'March for the Alternative', March 2011

Young LaboYL at TUCur marched with hundreds of thousands on 26th March on the ‘March for the Alternative’ in London.

Hundreds of Young Labour activists from across the country attended the demonstration against the Tory-led government’s devastating cuts to public services. A clear message was sent from a cross-section of the British public that these cuts are too far and too fast.

National Chair of Young Labour, Susan Nash said: “ We felt it was particularly important Young Labour had a presence on this march as these cuts are having a devastating impact on life chances of young people. The trebling of tuition fees, abolition of the EMA, slashing of teaching grants and inaction over the record levels of youth unemployment have shown that this government have turned their back on the next generation.”
