Local Young Labour Groups

Get involved your local Young Labour group!

Young Labour has a number of local groups which represent and support all young members in a CLP, an area, or a region. These groups help members to meet other young members through events, campaigns, and online communications.

No local Young Labour group?! Set one up!

Not all CLP’s or areas are currently covered by a Young Labour group. Young Labour groups can help members connect with other young members in their area, support young members to get more involved in Young Labour and the wider party, and run campaigns and activities for young members and supporters in the area.

For more advice and support on setting up a Young Labour group get in touch with your regional representative on Young Labour National Committee.

Making your Young Labour group official

In order to make your Young Labour group official, there are a few steps you must take:

1.    Get the agreement of the CLP secretary(ies) covered by the proposed group.
2.    Apply to the Labour Party’s Regional Office in your region with details of the group and its boundaries.

If your application is made with the approval of CLP Secretary(ies) and is approved by the Regional Office then you are well on the way to becoming officially recognised. All you still need to do is email younglabour@new.labour.org.uk with the follow details:

•    The name of your group.
•    The agreed boundaries of the group.
•    A key contact for the group (normally the Chair or Secretary).
•    Contact details for that key contact including an email address and mobile number.
•    The details of any website or facebook group that you wanted linked to the Young Labour groups page on this website.
